Short Penang Trip

It all started in Langkawi, when Peter said…hm…let’s go and have something to eat in Penang tomorrow. Answer: :)) sure, why not. That means we leave in 8 hours from here, right? Ok, let’s do this. 

And we did….. left the island just when it was getting cloudy, we were on the ferry when it was raining( not so nice as a feeling, but ok), arrived on the last minute to catch the ferry of course and we arrived on the land. We take a taxi to go to the bus stop, and then….bbooom…rain start pouring like hell, you couldn’t see anything in fron of you….the driver was still going like nothing happened…all good. We arrive to the bus, someone shows us a bus, we buy the tickets, get in, but some water and we start moving. Penang here we come, no accomodation, pouring like hell outside, phones almost dead….. just a normal trip in Asia. Because me and Peter are a bit smarter than an average Asian, we manage to do a booking on the phone at one hostel, and then…at the middle of the trip, when the rain stopped….we realize…hey…has anyone asked the driver is this bus goes to Penang? Panic moment for 2 minutes…and then……yeah well. fuck it, we will see. 

Surprize……… yeas, we reached Penang. So, what is the deal with this place. George Town is the coolest thing to see in Penang, but it is an island which is linked to the rest of the region by ferry ride. This means everythime you need to get in the town, either by car or foot, you need to get a ferry. And, so we did, but we had to wait. Now, take a look at this and tell me what you think of: 

Yes, like the Mexico border. We were feeling like broke  latino immigrants, illegally crossing the border. 

So, after finishing being a insensitive foreigner, we crossed the river and arrived in George Town. And in that moment…I felt Asian. That is trully an Asia city, with a great view and a cultural feeling. 

It has an awesome street art, which we managed to see, and awesome cheap and good food! There are actually people who go there for food.
