One of the first things people tell you to visit in KL are The Petronas Towers and Batu Caves. It took me 1 day to get to the towers, and 3 months to get to the Batu Caves. And do not think that it is in the middle of nowhere, without public transportation….no, it is the opposite, the transportation is very nice, air con and all that. I was just lazy to go alone.

But all the waiting was actually worthed due to the company I had. 2 Hungarian friends and my latina loca, one half sunny day and that is all I needed, Batu Cave here I come. Let’s see why are you so fascinating.

So, I get the train, get there…. different temperature… trees, it is more green, it is cooler…..nice, good point. And then, the miracle happens… I saw the first dog in Malaysia!!  The cutest thing ever…… here you can only see cats, dogs are not considered “clean enougt” to be pets. So, cats all day long, lucky me..not. Anyways, getting back to the huge Muslim statue, because it is fricking HUGE!!!! as 15 meters tall, covered in gold, and  wich has 272 stepts to get into the cave, which is actually the praying place.

The beauty of this place is the fact that Muslims go up all the 272!!! stairs, in their knees, as a praying ritual. And, the climbing up is not as easy as you think because the place is packed with monkey!! And they will steal your food! I am not kidding! I had a cola bottle, and I had to have a “eye contact fight” with one monkey for 10 minutes to leave me alone and not take my cola. You just do not mess with my Cola in a no-coffee policy day. Never ever, no matter if you are human or monkey!

Mama monkey and baby monkey

So, after having this crucial step in my life and having the proof that I am smarter than a monkey, I managed to get all the way up, the 272 stairs and get inside the temple, where there were more monkeys!!! The monkey land, i swear. But the cave is actually very nice, I like it. It is a must see in Kuala Lumpur, more even if you didn’t had many conection with hindu culture. It is a great place, good for a 3 hours activity.

let’s start going up, I say.

The crazy crew- El Salvador, Hungary and Romania – at the middle of the stairs :)

so big and greeennnnn
