What is the deal with islands in Malaysia

Being in Asia and having to travel to different places or just having friend over that wanted to visit around, I started t  inform myself about the places and the traditions here. I already formed an idea of what is a must see, what is good to see and what you can skip, but it took a lot of reading, talking to people and exploring different cultures. But one of the eternal fascinations to anyone traveling to ASIA are the islands.

Why are they so fascinating? Why does everyone want to go there? 

Well, I had to try it so that I can present my opinion about it. So, I chose to visit one of the coolest island in Malaysia- Perhentian. 

What can Perhentian Island offer you?

1. Remote location- it is in the middle of nowhere..... like literally!! You can only get there on a boat which you take from Kuala Besut. The ferry ride takes 1 hour, but it operated only at certain hours and if the weather is not good, you are doomed because the ferry will not go.

2. The view is breath-taking, in all the ways. Imagine an island where people did not had the time to invest tons of money in building fancy restaurant, skyscrapers and malls… .. instead, you have nature and some rustic restaurant and the party at night means some beer on the beach and a shisha… what else can you wish for.

3. The accommodation is not super fancy, but some are overpriced. Anyways, be prepared to pay more than the actual value of it, but this is how things work on every island in Asia.

4. The most amazing part of island in Asia is surfing and snorkeling. And it is totally worth it!! Imagine swimming among corals and turtles in the ocean, admiring the beauties of the nature..... You don't need to bring any equipment with you, as you can rent everything from the bars on the beach.

5. This place is quiet… super quiet… and everyone respects that

You can find people doing yoga( there are yoga classes at dawn), having a massage of just chilling and reading a book on the beach,  but everyone enjoys the quiet.

6. The fresh sea food is amazing… and here I am taking about the locals who cook the fish, as the food on this islands consist mainly of the fish captures of the day and fresh fruits.

7. The best part- limited internet and phone signal. This just to makes everything better. On some islands you will find this customs, that there is only electricity at night, so you can actually enjoy your time spend in the nature here. 

If you are looking for the feeling on being lost on a natural resort, where you can enjoy the peace and admire the nature, Perhentian Island is the right place for you. The island is isolated, mysterious and  the most important…addictive. Once you get a taste of the islands in Asia, you will just want to visit more and more…
